Sandy is the owner, clinical director and a Licensed Professional Counselor at Cypresswood Christian Counseling in Houston. She is a 2009 graduate of Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in Hamilton, MA with a Master of Arts in Counseling.
Her internship and practicum work was completed at Wellspring Counseling in Biddeford, ME. Prior to attending seminary, Sandy was a teacher/facilitator for Bible Study Fellowship International for 17 years while raising her family. She is the mother of two grown daughters, five grandchildren and one wonderful husband of 36 years.
Bernice McKenzie is a Licensed Professional Counselor and is also Certified by the National Board of Certified Counselors. She earned her Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling from Walden University while serving active duty in the United States Air Force and obtained her Bachelor of Art in Psychology from Florida Atlantic University.
She completed her Practicum and Internship in the military setting which focused on substance abuse and mental health disorders. She is experienced with dual diagnosis, along with other behavioral and cognitive disorders in children, adolescents and adults.
She is a mother to a beautiful daughter, and a wife to her husband of 6 years. As she continues to build her family, Bernice is passionate about providing the most confidential and quality therapy to her clients in a safe and relaxing environment. She believes the client-therapist relationship is a partnership in which she provides the support and guidance that is needed when life becomes a challenge.
Jann is a Licensed Professional Counselor. Jann earned her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Sam Houston State University in 2014. She was married for 45 years and enjoys spending as much time as possible with her 4 children and 5 grandchildren
Jann, like the others on the team, treats her clients uniquely. After assessing the situation from a Christian perspective, she helps her clients discover the tools and resources to navigate through the challenges that they face. Jann's years of experience include working with couples, families, and individuals of all ages. Jann’s many years of life experience is invaluable when building a rapport with her clients. This is a safe place for the client to be able share everything on their mind and heart. Jann uses Cognitive-Behavioral therapy blended with other therapies and techniques to help her clients reach the desired solution. She feels privileged that God is using her to help people find a path to peace and becoming whole. Jann is available for online therapy.
Evelyn Franco is a Licensed Professional Counselor-Intern. She began her undergraduate studies at the College of New Rochelle in New York and completed her Bachelor of Psychology at Walden University. She earned her Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lamar University.
Evelyn completed her Practicum and Internship at Houston Achievement Place and at Bridging for Tomorrow working mainly with foster care children, adolescents, and women with various mood and adjustment disorders. Her main treatment modalities are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution-Focused Therapy. She understands that life can get overwhelming and chaotic and that anyone can find themselves “stuck” on their life journey. She looks forward to walking alongside you on your journey to healing.
Whenever possible, Evelyn loves spending time with her husband of 24 years and two adolescent children. She finds joy, peace, and balance while gardening and enjoying nature.
